Three days of science, exchange and collaboration on Artemisia research — from human and animal health to agroecology and biopesticides.
After a landmark first edition in Tanzania, the Artemisia research community reconvenes in Tenerife to deepen its collective agenda around One Health.
The 1st International Symposium on Artemisia, held in Arusha in October 2025, brought together 140 experts from 29 countries and demonstrated the strength of a global, interdisciplinary community.
Building on this momentum, the 2nd edition will take place at the Universidad de La Laguna, Tenerife, from 6 to 8 September 2027. Hosted in the Canary Islands — a natural crossroads between Europe, Africa and the Americas — ISA II will welcome physicians, biologists, veterinarians, agronomists and field practitioners working on all facets of Artemisia.
Three days of keynote lectures, oral communications, poster sessions, technical visits and networking will consolidate partnerships and shape the next wave of high-impact research.
Located between Europe, Africa and the Americas, the Canary Islands offer exceptional international accessibility and a symbolic meeting point for the global Artemisia community.
Founded in 1792 and anchored in the UNESCO-listed city of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Universidad de La Laguna is the oldest university of the Canary Islands and a respected research hub.
Volcanic soils, subtropical climate and extraordinary biodiversity make Tenerife an inspiring setting for discussions on agroecology, biopesticides and the cultivation of medicinal plants.
The program will be organised around the four core pillars of Artemisia research, combining keynote sessions, oral communications, posters and field visits.
